Since they turned their backs on the very people that bought their records and watched their movies to build them up to where they are now, it would be very fitting if black people now wouldn’t spend any more of their money propping up these black entertainers. Let them sell their music to black Republicans, and its not that many of them.
No disrespect but I think you’re looking at this from an extremely biased perspective. Let me start of by saying that I am an independent so I like to look at things from both sides. These rappers did not turn their backs on anyone. They did what was logical. If someone of official status tells you that they wont discuss your concerns until AFTER they see election results, thats a red flag and no one would agree to it, I dont blame cube for making that deal, he gave both parties a chance and only one responded. Democratic individuals let democrats slide for every foul thing they do. Had that been Republicans saying “we’ll talk after the election” everyone would have cried foul. If Trump had Biden’s reputation, no one would let him slide for it. In case you didn’t know, biden has been caught on camera referring to blacks as n****rs and he was against desegregation. Now some ppl claim that he’s learned from his past, maybe so, but had it been Trump caught on camera saying those things, no one would let him slide no matter how much time has passed. That same energy needs to be kept because there’s no reason any white man should ever be comfortable saying “if you don’t vote for me you aint black” with a smile on his face. But yall let him get away with that. As an independent, in my opinion, democratic voters are hypocrites. If you don’t like Trump thats fine but just say that instead saying he’s this that and third when Biden possesses those same horrible qualities on a much larger scale. Fifty and cube got tired of being used, in my opinion they were being logical and putting up a fight that a lot of people didn’t have the courage to do 🤷🏾♀️
I don’t think its disrespectful to disagree with someone and I respect your opinion. Your take on this issue is very thoughtful, but I’ve got a question for you: Can Ice Cube bring his proposals about reparations to the floor of Congress to become Law?
If you answer no, then certainly he knows this. You need someone in Congress to legislate this and make it Law. Trump signs bills and those signed bills become Law, so Trump by himself can’t make Ice Cube’s proposals Law.
But there was a Congressman name John Conyers, a Liberal Democrat, who in 1989 began bringing a proposal for reparations to the floor of Congress to make it a Law, and he continued bringing it every Congress for years after. Where was Ice Cube and the rappers when John Conyers needed their support on the issue?
I honestly believe cube could have gotten to congress but he first needs to get his foot in the door. And i agree, where was cube when these laws were trying to get passed, but at the same time I dont really care for celebrities getting involved with politics. Its nice to know they care but most of them don’t know how things work and they just say anything, its almost like the blind leading the blind. But on the subject of John Conyers, every democrat is not like that and I really dont think we should expect the rest of them to follow in his foot steps because they’ve already proved that they aren’t going to.
