Is the Sabbath on Saturday, Sunday, or possibly any day of the week (lunar)?

Did it (Saturday) exist prior to the sabbath? When in History do we find the descendants of Israel ever using the term “Saturday”?

Okay okay I am going to try and address some of this. We know the most high rested on the seventh day. By the calendar we follow the seventh day is Saturday. I am questioning something totally different. Is it true that the Romans added 12 hours to the ancient Hebrew day of 12 hours creating a 24-hour day.

If you did, what are the references. I would definitely like to read them and research it. I have never heard this before.

So then we know the Sabbath day and Saturday are NOT synonymous! Then I ask, why are most Israelites (blacks) attempting to keep/guard it on Saturday? Or is something else afoot here?

We can faithfully keep Saturday as the Sabbath, then lie Monday – Sunday. We can’t keep the letter of the law! This is why Yahshua the Messiah came to earth and made Himself a sacrifice for our sins!

Before getting that far, I just want people to research how it was decided. One point at a time. We can cross that bridge after this one. Let’s first establish how the Sabbath was reckoned.

It’s reckoned by the moon. When Yah first mentions “months” in Exodus 12:2, each time month is used, it’s “chodesh”. In English, we would call it “the first of the month”.
One thing to remember is that when referring to the moon as an object, the word is yareach, as shown when Joseph is recounting his dream about the sun, moon and 11 stars bowing down to him in Genesis 37:9.
These words are what I’m finding in the Blue Letter Bible app, and it’s likely “Yiddish brew”. But we can see that the ISH people aren’t even keeping the proper appointed times of Yah.
This topic is a deep one, given the amount of history involved (calendar study and historical evidence).

That’s the thing though. Who said חדש meant new moon? The ISH did. It means new or renew. ירח means moon, and is not derived from חדש. Jubilees said we would go wrong to the times by following the moon only.

Most of the answers are in Exodus 12, but you must establish definitions for the words and be able to follow orders. Upon closer research, you may find several facts as I did in a one year experiment:
1. Sabbath is lunar based,
2. Although lunar based, the sun is needed in order to count the DAYS,
3. The (1st day) of the month is a title,
4. The object in the sky called the moon only reflects the light of the sun and the moon has no light of its own without reflectin the sun’s light,
5. The movement of sun and moon varies the amount of daylight vs nite time hours in patterns (into and out of portals),
6. You can not utilize a man made calander to determine which one of the man named days as being synonymous with YAH’S Sabbath DAY of rest.
If one uses only his or her eyes to watch and plot the courses, phases of the moon, along with the number of days of sunlight given by the sun over a one year period, one will find that the sabbath (DAY) is every 7th (DAY), but can and does vary when that 7th DAY is applied to a modern man made calendar (7TH day rest is not the same day every week).
In other words, a one year experiment of observation only by looking up can demonstrate which DAYS of the year are Sabbath DAYS.
Upon completion, you will find that this is how the priests of Yasharal determined the upcoming sabbath DAYS, moon DAYS and feast DAYS based upon Exodus 12 and other passages.
Today, we make the mistake that we can supercede the Most High’s order of operation by replacing it with man made order of operation called a paper calendar.
When the priests would write down historical events, it was then that these events would be calendarized for Yasharal’s progeny and records management after the fact.

the 7 day sabbath is established by first determining the 1st day of the month. Once you establish the first day of the month, you can then determine the 7th day (sabbath rest) and all of the feast days that follow.
So to do this, I spent an entire year following the movements of the sun and moon. You cannot rely upon a paper calendar or a wrist watch to determine the time or the days of YAH. You must utilize only the sun, moon and stars in the sky just like our ancient forefathers did. They did not rely on a Julian or Gregorian calendar whatsoever, so to think that the days of the week which we utilize today has anything to do with the Most High’s sabbaths is at best in error.
I challenge you to go outside everyday and watch both the sun and the moon. Watch their movements through the sky every single day and write notes on what you see. You will find that the moon follows the sun in a set order that NEVER changes, EVER! It reflects the sun’s light in a specific and unchanging order!! It is the only thing that it consistent and reliable in determining YAH’S times. It is the clock given to Israel for reckoning YAH’S time and seasons.

2 Chronicles 31:3 He appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the Lord.
The new moons and the sabbaths are not the same. The new moons help to properly count the feasts days which are considered as sabbaths, but not the weekly sabbaths.

The word Sabbath comes from the Hebrew word “shabbath” meaning rest. The Biblical Sabbath day is Saturday, the seventh day of the week. Originally, the Israelites didn’t have names for each day of the week like on this Gregorian calendar. Also, the Romans used an 8 day calendar at one point in their history and switched to 7 days. Which day did they cut when they switched to 7? So, how can you be so sure that our modern-day Saturday is equal to the 7th day all the way back at creation?

The Sabbath Day is on the seventh day.
I follow the Luni-Solar calendar presented by the WLC Calendar app.
Luni-Solar because the Most High provides the sun, moon, and stars as our “calendar”. (Genesis 1:14-16)

The new moon is the start of a new month.

This shows the count of days in that same month.

I count to the seventh day for the Sabbath. It falls on different days and is only once a month. I learned that God does not start over counting 7 days like we have been taught the the Georgian calendar. They added names and numbered the days 1-7 as another way to throw us off.
I used to wonder how our ancestors got ready for the Sabbath every week. It was stressful and hard to do but we did it for years. My soul felt right when I learned about this. God gave twelve months as He did twelve children to Jacob. Each month can not be counted day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2 = 30 days for one month.

I think many are making this harder than what it really should be. Just pretend for a moment that you were ship wrecked on an island. You woke up on the beach and all you had was the clothes on your back with no watch and no paper calendar.
How would you keep track of time? How would you determine the days and months? How would you determine the years?
Would you not be forced to use the hands in the sky? Would you not be forced to count? Would you not be forced to look at the changes in weather to determine the seasons?
Was this not the job of the levitical priests of Israel as part of their governmentAL duties?
Again, if you take the time to go outside and look at the evidence in the sky, you too can track all that is necessary to keep the 7 day sabbath, the new moon day sabbath and the Feast Days.
You can do all of this without a man made paper calendar. See my previous post above.
